I know what you did last Friday!

Friday morning we went with a staffer from the Homes of Hope Follow Up, and we took a couple of ladies from a colonia to the office that holds their mortgage papers. They had houses built for them during the winter, and the families that had came down to build later sent money to pay off the property; they both owed about 4000 dollars and I was the guy that got to carry the money. It was a good experience. On the way there and back we were talking to our Homes of Hope staffer, her name is Esther Gastelum and she has a sweet little baby named Iliana.

Other news is that we keep going back and forth on Misty's outreach, as I type though tickets have been purchased and Misty is going to go to Peru for a week along with Sam Kemp who is married to Tym Kemp the DTS director. While there she will be working at the YWAM base in Peru, I will be here in Ensenada with the kids and will work in the kitchen and shop while the kids are in school. The rest of the time I will be chasing them around and hoping for the best. I'm excited for Misty though and I think she will be a real blessing to the other students when she gets there.

We have had a little extra time in the mornings or afternoons lately and have taken several walks on the beach. It can be very soothing as you are walking in the sand and looking at shells and having the waves crash so loudly that you cannot hear anything. It's a good walk though and another interesting part is that a road is getting built right behind the YWAM base and we get to see the latest progress. The builders have put down the basic shape of the road and have installed sewer pipes and storm drains near us and then the road is packed down with dirt, sand and some cement mixed in. And down the street they are laying down the 12 inch thick slabs of concrete to finish the job. One day in the future it will be nice when all the dirt roads around here are paved and there is less dust floating around.

Sorry it's been a while...

Hey everybody!!

Today is Wednesday and we are in the midst of the last week of spring programs. We only have one group here, they are from Virginia and it is a smaller group of people. This has gone on for 6 weeks, at the beginning it was crazy, I was really overwhelmed at first with all the work going on but I got through it and I learned some things as well. I am getting more and more items delivered here, and we now have a new storage pantry to keep food safe and in sufficient quantities.

Today a couple of our leaders are going to BBQ for us for dinner, I look forward to that. The kids are doing great, and I am getting tired of saying this but their spanish is going great, I think its better than mine at this point. This is really good, Joey and Emily are able to play with the other kids now and we even have a frequent visitor named John Alexander who lives upstairs, he is 6; I think he likes the toys the most. They run around outside with the plastic guns and then come in for the V- Smile.

We are supposed to go to Tepic next Monday for 2 weeks, I hope so, its for Misty's DTS outreach since we didn't go to Peru with the other students. After that I have a conference at the end of May and then we are into summer programs. I think that will go better for me now that I have experienced it and I feel ready.

They came, they saw, and then they had to go…

We had an amazing gift from home, a group of ten ladies came to visit us. I (Misty) had the wonderful pleasure of being tour guide to Robin (Birthday girl), Lisa, Sandy, Julie, Tiana, Jean, Claudia, Karen, Elaine, and Cheryl. These ladies were a hoot! They arrived bright and early Thursday morning, after a cell phone call to reset our clocks, Mexico is an hour behind till Saturday, I arrived at the port just in time to be turned around because I wasn’t authorized to go in. They all made it to the van and we were off to shopping in downtown. After a few guys trying to get us to drink beer at 10 in the am, one of the happy ladies began dancing on the sidewalk with one of the waiters, I’ll let you guess who it was, I than took the ladies to the YWAM base, I gave a small tour then off to our apartment, which now I know I need more seating!

I was blown away that they remembered that my birthday is only a few days away (4-7) and they brought me gifts. All together now ahhh. Thank you to Lisa S. and Carol S. and JoNell my b-day lunch buddies for the beautiful lapel PINS, I can’t believe that they are now international pins, Lisa for the Lip Smackers which I am thoroughly addicted to, I also can’t wait to use the gift at our new APPLEBEES! Thanks to Robin for the bunko kit, I’m in the stages now of planning a bunko takeover in Ensenada. I also received some cash in my Microwave from a fairy (Hey Tiana, how was that muffin in the microwave??), Sandy for my cute purse, and a few other angels gave me gifts of cash as well. THANK YOU!! Those gifts will be used to get a much needed Dryer for our laundry. Thanks for making me feel so special I appreciate all of you!

We had a special time of prayer (any updates would be awesome), and then it was off again in the van this time to see the house that the DTS (Discipleship Training School) had a chance to build. After a scare with the 12 passenger van not wanting to make up one of the majorly steep hills I dropped my friends off at the ship. We ended with hugs all around and a security guard telling me I had to get going. I had tears in my eyes as I was realizing how fast, fun, and heart tendering this day turned out to be. That old saying you don’t know how much you miss something till it’s gone is true. I can’t believe how much I miss Sparks Christian Fellowship! I look forward to seeing photos, videos, and hearing the Cruise Ladies side of the stories.

Wednesday Night

Hey,

We have started the first week of Mission Adventures here, it has been an adjustment. Misty is learning about Bible study during DTS, Dad is feeding a couple of hundred people for meals, and the kids are in school. Misty tried to see Joey marching in a Disfile (parade) she thought she was on the correct street but couldn't find Joey's school. Tomorrow we will see the spring program at Joey's school. Both Kids will be in the program Joey has a duck costume and Emily has a chicken outfit. I can't wait till the Christmas party, we are going to get Misty a chicken costume and I will dress up like Colonel Sanders we should be a hit. I never implement the ideas but sometimes I think of cool Halloween outfits for us as a family. I want to go with Joey me as Igor and Joey as a Mad Scientist, or have Joey and Emily in little police costumes and me and Misty dressed up like convicts.

But back to the program, Joey's class will be singing a song in English! It is YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE I guess they picked it because it has the word "sunshine" in the title. Unfortunately the song text isn't so joyful.

Another Day Another Adventure

It's an early Friday morning and Bill is awake. The week here has been busy up to now we had more than 200 people running around from 2 churches building 6 houses. It's a bit depersonalized when we have so many people here and I only met one person. The rest of the time I was pretty busy trying to help get the food cooked and when the bell rang to keep it on the serving table out in the courtyard while everyone was eating. Here is another way to say we had a lot of people here, Misty was buying some gas at the Pemex station yesterday and she saw a convoy of white rental vans gassing up and started talking to the people there. "Are you on a mission trip"? So after a minute of conversation it turned out they were here with YWAM Ensenada Baja building houses. Wow, small world. We had a lot of people here.

Sorry this post is a lot about Bill right now but hang in there or scroll down if you are so inclined, I was very tired and discouraged the past couple of days, I want to do everything perfectly and when I don't I get upset with myself and with others and the whole system starts to get on my nerves. I was really encouraged though through something that happened during the morning. I posted last month about life in the kitchen

We had a really good week in DTS our speaker was a guy named Kenny Peavey and he lead worship and spent time talking about Worshipping God and connecting with Him through worship and as that happens we participate with Him in what He is doing in the world and with other people. So for me (Bill) God was putting on my heart what goes on in the kitchen and all the people I interact with while I am at work cooking there; other staff and students, people from the Rehab center that come in to work in the kitchen sometimes and even the bums who live on the beach nearby coming to the side door asking for food. It was an awesome week actually.

Yesterday when some guys from rehab were here working in the kitchen a man named Carlos introduced himself and he had come here before to the side door asking for food and I did the usual and gave him a trash bag and had him fill it and take it to the dumpster and I gave him some food and water. (depending on the leftover situation it can be an awesome deal) So now he is in rehab and it was neat to see someone I reached out to when they were sick and starving in a place where they can get help and has returned home to the One who really cares about us and loves us.

We are almost through with the FM3 visa process, I can't believe it! Monday we all went to a photo shop and took pictures... again and Misty filled out paperwork and through Ivonne the visa coordinator we might be legal and more than a tourist. I can even get a Mexican drivers license; for that alone I can't wait to come home and visit my old job and whip that out. Joey and Emily were really cute in the pictures I should go back and get another set done in a larger size and on Disc so they can be shared. Yesterday we were visiting a lady from the Follow up department named Ester who has a 3 month old little girl. Joey was waving a rattle for the baby and Emily was kissing her and laughing and saying something to mama and baby about zapatos (shoes) it was a great 5 minute party there. I also got to introduce Emily to the DTS speaker who was with us the first three days of the week, the speaker was Rob Morris who was talking about justice and sharing about his NGO Justice for Children International www.jfci.org I knew Rob 11 years ago in Texas while I was in my DTS. As the years went on he moved back east with a ministry called AXIOM that is in New England and started JFCI after become aware of the issue of the Trafficking of Children for the purpose of becoming slaves in Brothels. Misty has had an intense week. Pray for her and all of us as we get challenged in classes and challenged at work.

I MADE IT!

Hey gang, I made it back off the mountain in one piece. Nikko, is a Greek word meaning to overcome. So when we finished a task we would scream I Nikko'd it! Meaning I overcame the task given.

We headed off on wed afternoon into the mountain region south of Ensenada. We were split into three teams pictured above is my team. We than picked a leader and gathered our packs and began walking to our first stopping area. Two hours later up steep mountains and down small paths we arrived. We had a bit of a break and then we were told to put our packs back on and then a blindfold, our new leader had to direct us back up the mountain we had just climbed down from. This was awesome for me! I was so comfortable with Ashley our leader I had no problem in listening and being lead by her. That hike was the fastest by far! We then headed off to our sleeping camp which was oh yeah another two hours in the opposite direction. Goodness I was beat! and didn't sleep till about an hour before we were woken up for our all day hike. At each stop we would have a small teaching and time of discussion, Archie and Clint our leaders truly wanted this to be a classroom experience. We woke up Thursday and appointed another leader, got directions, got our packs on and were off. There was a team ahead of us and a team behind us. We arrived at our first meeting sight with not seeing a soul but Archie and Clint. We had followed the directions and made it on time about 2 1/2 hours trek. We never ever did see the others teams the whole hike. We dropped our big packs, and a breakfast, and a potty break. This is the best potty in the world here's it's view, yep no door and plenty of air whirling around no need for TP either. It's truly an amazing site and my favorite potty on the whole trip!

We gathered our day pack with lots of water and we were off. We were told that we should get back to our base camp in about 4-6 hours. I was like WHAT?? Hello we just walked, fell, slid for 2 1/2 hours already and we are still going? I was so happy to give up my huge pack I have to admit and Clint assured me that the more I walked the lighter the pack would become. Ya RIGHT, I get the direction behind it, because as we eat and drink what it's in our pack it will become lighter, but we still have to make the trek. This was all endurance, it was persevereing and for me it was awesome to see me humble myself through the pain and give up my pack after my team has asked numerous times to take it. I can't tell you how hard that small lesson of Mat. 11:28-30 was for me, I gave my junk to Jesus so I can "learn to live freely and lightly." (the message) My team was amazing, they pulled me through when I needed it encouraged me when I couldn't get my foot to move any more, and laughed, cried, and journeyed with me. I am forever grateful to these people and have learned so much from each one. So I'm sure you are asking hey what happened to the other teams. Great question the other teams went the wrong direction at the very beginning of the hike and got lost. One team walked 2 1/2 hours in the wrong direction to have to turn around and make up that time plus continue the same hike we were all on. Everyone did make it back to base camp. Our team took 5 1/2 hours! You'd think after that hike I'd sleep like a baby, oh nope not yet. We woke Friday morn, and were off again. I was pretty sore and stiff and cried out at our time of prayer to the Lord, " I confess, I'm done! I don't want to do this any more." Then in my heart I heard, "You can do it, I know the way, You can do it." It was like God was whispering in my ear I'm here follow me we can do it. I was energized, and for the first time my knee stopped hurting and I started singing praises. This was a silent hike so I had to sing in my head but it was still as loud and powerful as if I were shouting with my voice. This hike God revealed to me in the silence how precious I was to him. I felt like I was giving out all the time and this was my moment to receive back from God, I began to weep, and my poor team thought I was in pain, with out speaking I was letting them know that God was talking to me. They cared so much for me and it did this moms heart good to see them caring for me instead of the other way around. We arrived at our last base camp and it was time to pick another leader and I was the last so it was my time to shine. My task make lunch for my team. Yep, this is where the chicken comes into play. I gave instructions to my team and then we were off. I'd like to tell you all the details and will if you want to know but I'll pass on it right now. It was extremely difficult for my entire team!! All of tasks that were placed before us were to prepare us for outreach. I totally see that! I would rather do what we had to do in a safe environment rather than out in the bush and people freaking out! I am glad I went on the trip and would go again if given the chance. I would recommend Nikko to everyone going on a outreach, it was AWESOME.

Mom's Big Adventure

Tomorrow Misty is going to go with the DTS students on a trip to the outdoors. It is supposed to be somewhat intense, there will be hiking, team building activities, and there will be chicken for dinner. The chicken will be very very fresh, as fresh as a chicken can be. I hope she has a really good time. But seriously, pray for Misty this goes from Wednesday through Saturday and it is a lot of physical exertion and and she is going backpacking for the first time ever. She could have taken a pass but she is going to go for it and I am really proud of her.

We are having a quiet few days here on the YWAM Base, but next week will be pretty exciting and soon we will be having a lot of week long programs happening and that will be a bit of an adjustment feeding a lot of high school age students here.

We have finally taken everything out of our storage unit and all that needs to get here is the flat bed trailer full of furniture that is in the San Diego Offices warehouse. Hopefully soon the furniture will be here in a couple of days.

Joey is making his dad really proud as he writes letters on the side of our van in the morning, and this evening he was putting down numbers on a piece of paper and keeping score for Emily as they played with the bowling game our friend Heather Nielsen gave Joey. I like the school that Joey and Emily go to during the week, there are a lot of things they are having the kids in Joeys class do, PE, learning about the Mexican Flag, expositions (Joey talked about Cows), Spanish Lessons, art, computer's math, writing letters and numbers all of this in Spanish. Last week Misty went to a parent teacher conference and heard a really good report about how Joey is learning the language, and is a problem solver whether it is school work or other kids fighting with each other. I am so proud of my little boy! Emily is so sweet when she comes and goes to school, when we pick her up her hair has been put up into little pig tails. Next September she will start Kindergarten, and as she starts Joey will be finishing so they will be together. I can't wait for the program they will have, we loved Joe's Christmas one and I cannot wait to see them together.

March Already!!

WOW, where is the time going? We had an amazing time last weekend. We are working on getting some photos and a video done to show you the house build. We started Sat. morning with a warm breakfast and an orientation on how to correctly put a nail into wood. After that we were off to a new area of Ensenada. Our house was near the downtown in the mountains area. The Family Gresiel and her two daughter were waiting along with her mom and dad, and the co-Mayor of Ensenada, his wife, and another man on the city council. It's been awesome to see God moving in the city government these past months. We all got to pray for the family on the foundation of their new home. We then split into teams, me and the kids were on the painting team!! We had a blast painting our hands first and then the boards. While painting we met a new friend same age as Joe he lived a few house down from the build, Joe played a bit with this little guy while Emily and I helped his grandma pull weeds. I was happy to see in the midst of this amazing work for this family we are being use to bless another family. Dad was back at the base finishing up his work. When he arrived we had lunch and got back to painting! It was great to work side by side with G and her cute girls, we have many pictures but they are not on our camera, they are soon to come! Cleanup was next and by 5 we were back at that base exhausted! After a quick scrub down in the shower, the kids fell asleep and slept through dinner and the whole evening they were pretty wiped out. The next morning it was another wonderful HOT breakfast (I tell you this because it's not everyday we get hot breakfast) then off to the build site, the walls were up and roofing was being started, we were again on paint duty this time inside. Mom did most of the painting while Bill and the kids were outside playing. We hope to go back and visit again soon! Together as a DTS this was awesome for us all to gel together as a team! I know it is an amazing blessing for G and her girls to receive shelter but it was more amazing to be used by God to bless this family and the family down the road. You who read this site are blessing us as well by your prayers, and support! I love God's perfect circle of blessings, don't you! Marie our niece will be having a birthday, and at the end of the month the "Cruise Girls" are coming for a visit. We are excited and can't wait!!

Wednesday Night

Well, it is wednesday evening and another day is finishing. It was Valentines day today and I got Misty some roses for her present. We also bought some chocolate bars from a lady that works at Joey and Emily's school. Misty made some labels and put them on the bars and we shared them with other DTS students in the morning. We are halfway through with the lecture phase. I don't even know how to start saying how good this has been for us to go through together. We have learned about the Father heart of God together, had amazing interactions with the other students and the guest speakers and I am so glad we were there together. It has been a good group to be in there are only 12 students in the class, so we are able to get to know each other better than if we were in a larger group. I speak from experience; the first DTS I did 11 years ago had like 30 people in it and there are some people I didn't really get to know at all, I never really had the chance. This week we have a guy from YWAM Denver talking to us about missions and giving us information about where unreached people are, and leading discussions about various questions. For example What is the gospel? What is the kingdom of God? What is salvation? Our Speakers name is Chris Failla and he reminds me and Misty of Quentin Steen a lot. Chris manages to communicate without dropping ocasional F Bombs though.

Today the power was out on the Base for all of the morning and half the afternoon while the Power was being repaired out in front of the street. It was a very interesting experience preparing lunch today. I worked Imelda our new cook and she is so good! It reminds me of a scene from the movie BIG starring Tom Hanks. Tom has wished himself to be Big so he is a little kid inside the body of an adult, he gets a job doing data entry at a toy factory and is just working away typing in data andthe guy next to him says: "hey, slow down you are going to make us look bad" I am having a good time working with Imelda. I am so blessed by here being here.

Joey and Emily had a good day at school, today they were celebrating Valentines day Joey had to bring some candy to share and Emily needed popcorn so she could have some for her movie they watched. Joey has just started the 3rd level of Kindergarten and Next fall Emily will start the 1st level, at which point we will have to decide if we take them both up the street to a different school so they can be together or have Emily at the present school-Piccolo Ninos and Joey at Colegio Americana.

Misty is really enjoying the class time, and also when she gets together with some of the other girls in the small group time. She is also enjoying watching Joey as he blossoms as a child; he is getting more verbal and talks all the time and tells stories that go on forever, he is getting taller. Misty is also so proud of Emily and how she is a nurturer, we saw this when we went to the orphanage, and when she plays with her baby dolls. It is also great to see her hair growing back.

Superbowl Sunday

Hey!
I wrote my brother an email earlier today and I was telling him how I was wanting to go to the actual Superbowl today except I don't have the tickets to the game or the time off or the money, or transportation either.

So anyhow it is Sunday morning, Misty is changing a diaper, Joey is watching the Wonder Pets on TV and I am posting. It was an awesome week actually.

I have a new staff person in the kitchen for a while, her name is Marla from Portland, Oregon and she is a mission builder here for about 5 or 6 months. Marla has been a tremendous help, she handles the kitchen when I have to be gone shopping or when I am in class in the mornings. Between her, Candace, and the other students in the afternoons I have had the time to take care of my work without being in a super rush so that is more good news.

Yesterday, we did some local outreach with the DTS, we all went to an Ophanage called Gabriels House. Gabriels house is for kids that have special needs. There were a few children there with Downs syndrome and some sisters with Muscular Dystropy and just about all the kids were in wheelchairs. So we all split into two groups half of us were cleaning while the other half played with kids. They had a swing set there with special seats for the kids. We pushed them in their chairs and spent time with them. After we came home, it was dinner time and I had to do some shopping for a Missions Adventures conference that is coming up next week.

So we are excited about last week and look forward to another week to come. Another DTS speaker, the conference and also a day off from school for the kids on Monday; Constitution Day!

Our Good Friend Caesar!

Hi gang, this is Caesar and Emily learning Spanish! Caesar is a mission builder, he helps wherever he is needed, and we need him a lot. He's a great guy and we have adopted him as our own.

Misty had an amazing encounter last Friday night, she and the other DTS students went down to the Red Light district called the Bajio's. Here is her story: When we first got there, it seemed like it was just another day downtown with not to many people. Then we put on the music and grabbed some cups of hot chocolate and bread and began to walk the block passing out a cup to whomever I saw. I didn't get far. The men and a few women came to us. I met Omar, who told me his story, he began to share with me how he killed his father and was sentenced to prison for 45 years and spent 22 in prison, and was released and then deported to Mexico. His eyes were filled with tears as he kept sharing with me about his past, he spoke of his mother and how she spent many of nights on this same street were are at making money to buy tacos for him and his brothers. He told me how he felt so guilty that he couldn't take care of his family, and how he couldn't eat the tacos his mom brought home because he knew what she did to get the money. We just listened, and listened. He ended with the amazing pain he was in right now his wisdom teeth are coming in and he has tried to go to the doctor but they can't help him. I asked if I could pray for him and he welcomed it. I felt so bad that I couldn't pull out his teeth for him, I was saddened by the lack of health care for him, I just don't know what God has in store for Omar, but I have to believe in faith that God loves Omar and wants to see him in his Kingdom so I prayed! I shared his story with everyone I could. I wanted a miracle to happen, I wanted Omar to be healed from his pain. I think God wanted him to share his story so I could share the story of how much God loved him! I was so honored and felt a bit anxious that God would choose me to pour his love onto Omar.

I went back to the van to get more hot coco. I was stopped by another man, he was smelly! Really, Really Smelly!! and not the good smell, mostly urine and vomit. He through another guy asked me what I thought about the people I've been seeing? All I could do was look at him as I began to request an answer from God, tell me what to say God, I began to pray. I said "You remind me of my brother*, you know like a friend." (*Not my biological brother MIKE:) just for the readers, I don't want Mike to think he stinks:) ) He said, through a translator, "I want the Joy you have in your eyes" I was blown away! I have Joy in my eyes, I was so humbled, all I could think was how badly he smelled, and he saw past that and wanted Jesus! WOW, I asked if I could pray for him and he accepted! I gathered a few others and we prayed, This man was weeping! he fell on to his knees and was crying out for the living GOD! HOW AWESOME!! I was amazed that God would bring these two gentlemen to me and that I could play a role in their salvation! PRAISE GOD!! Speaking of praising, my last encounter before we had to go was Sal, this guy was drunk, seriously drunk! he was trying to offer me a drink of what he had in his bag, "no thanks" I say and through a translator he tells me, I remind him of his sister that lives in San Diego, how nice I say does she know that you are drinking? no he says, she'd kill me, I tell him that it kills me too, to see him like this. He began to tear up, and said he loves his sister, over and over again. He then began to sing a song to me and with that I was scooped up and put in the van by our leaders. We had to go. I think about theses encounters a lot, and now that I got to share them with all of you I hope that you can think of them as well.

Here is some more amazing news, We as a DTS and a family have a great opportunity to build a home and will do so Feb. 24-25. The Rocha Rojo is our family, this is a single mom with two kids. Her name is Grisel, she is 22 and works in a factory. Her two girls are Ximena 2 and Itzel 5, they heard about the homes of hope through another family who received a home. We hope to meet this family this Sunday. Please be in prayer for this sweet family, and how we can share Christ's love for her, and her girls. We are excited and can't wait to give you more information as soon as we get it.

OK, so it is Sunday and I m here to report some stuff about the week we just had.

During the Discipleship Training School our subject was the Father Heart of God. Our speaker was a man from North Carolina named Jack Kody, he did a really good job, we met Jack last October when we were first here in Ensenada. He travels to various YWAM bases and spends a week at a time teaching this subject to the DTS's that are going on there. He had a very relaxed natural style of teaching and really connected with us during the week. He was also a major blessing to us as a couple because he kind of rearranged what he was talking about to address things that were going on with Misty on thursday. Next week we have a guy named Peter Ilian who will be talking about having a lifestyle of repentence.

Misty had a meeting with Joey's teacher the other night, He has a new Teacher the other one had to leave due to health reasons. Bill was having to finish serving dinner so one of the DTS staffers from Mexico went with to translate, her name is Kathy. Other news...Bill is still sick. he has a sore throat, it hurts and it hurts even worse to swallow. We are still having internet connectivity problems, I was on for a couple of hours the other night, but there has been only very intermittent service other than that. We need to get some sort of amplifier for the wireless in the courtyard or something. It is much less convenient doing this in the internet lounge. I work best when I get up early and have some time to think about what I am saying.

Here is one more bit of really neat news for us as a family, our DTS class will be participating as a class in a house buiding project in the next few weeks, that will be an awesome experience since we will get to be there from start to finish instead of just showing up for a while like we have done other times.

The Moss Family Adventure

Hi from the Moss Family adventure, we have been having a bear of a time trying to get posts through. This the third try, there is some sort of internet connectivity problems here.
We are in the second week of the DTS that Misty is attending.
Joey and Emily are in school, school is in full swing again after the Christmas break.
We had a very busy weekend this past weekend with 4 houses being built and us all going out to help set up the tables and feed the teams. Saturday was really cold and rainy, Sunday was a little nicer just cold outside.

I will try to post with more details and pictures or something but for now this is all.

My Best Friend

 

Joey and Emily have found two friends who happen to be brother and sister as well. Their names are Kory and Sophia. They are 5 and 3. The kids are having tons of fun playing at the YWAM base. If they aren't running around playing super heroes, then it's Hot wheels, or swinging on the swings, or playing Hide and Seek. The girls love to play with their babies, and watch any Disney, Veggie Tail, Pixar, etc. film they can. When Kory and his family arrived last July he didn't speak any English. Today, only 7 months from his arrival and he's really fluent in English, Sophia only speaks Spanish, so it's fun watching the girls communicate.

Bill and I have been really busy getting food prepared for the teams that have been arriving. We have two teams here this week both are from Calgary. One of the teams is a big Skateboarding group. They so far have taken out a pillar at our apartment complex, managed to get one of our vans onto the beach and then can't for some reason get it out of the sand dune the parked it in, damaged two of our dorm rooms, and this is only the first night. WOW!! Canadians really know how to party!

I have received a few error messages regarding some of our e-letters that have been going out. We do send one out every month so if you haven't received yours it could be that it has bounced back to us. If this has happened let us know and I'll send another one to you with the correct E-mail. We really want to keep in contact with you all so that you know how our adventure is going. We also have been experiencing some internet problems, so if the blog site isn't up to date check back it could be because our server was down. We do have a picture of Manuel our Costco friend, we just need to post it up here, we tried early before the letter was sent and we just found out that it didn't post so we will try again.

Our DTS class begins on Monday the 8th (happy B-Day Grandma Mary). I'm pretty excited! I've seen the last class and some have shared with me their experiences and I can't wait to see what God has in store for our family. There are 15 others attending the oldest one it 23 so Bill and I are the grandparents once again!! We are okay with it. We'll let you know how it goes when we get into it. For now if you can continue to pray for our finances, that would be great! We are about 700.00 a month in the red each month.
